The Korea Economic Daily reported that Samsung may cooperate with Tesla to produce the next generation of fully autonomous driving chips, and related reports also stated that Samsung's 3nm process yield has increased significantly to 60%.
After Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong held talks with Tesla CEO Elon Musk in May this year, there were reports that the cooperation between the two parties would deepen. Relevant news indicated that Samsung might join the production of Tesla's next-generation autonomous driving chips to correspond to Level 5 fully autonomous driving functions.
Before this, Tesla only cooperated with TSMC to produce autonomous driving chips, but it is possible that it will cooperate with both TSMC and Samsung in the future.
However, in the currently mainstream 4nm process, TSMC's yield rate reaches 80%, and although Samsung's 4nm process yield rate has increased to 75%, there is still some gap.
