CNBC reported thatIn 2022, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella set a goal of increasing the company's revenue to $2030 billion by fiscal 5000.
This document, which was exposed in the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's lawsuit accusing Microsoft of market monopoly in its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, shows that Satya Nadella once told the board of directors internally that the company's revenue is in a stable development state. If it grows at a rate of at least 10% per year, it is expected to achieve revenue of US$2030 billion before fiscal 5000.
In the relevant documents, Satya Nadella emphasized that he will continue to promote the growth of Azure's cloud business, widen the gap with its competitor Google Cloud, and gradually catch up with the scale of Amazon's AWS cloud business development, thereby driving more business growth for Microsoft.
Currently, existing businesses including Office and Windows have been largely integrated with cloud platforms, and Microsoft has recently deepened its collaboration with OpenAI on artificial intelligence technology, thereby driving greater demand for the use of cloud platforms. The market also expects that the next wave of artificial intelligence will enable Microsoft to connect with greater growth opportunities.
On the other hand, the Metaverse is also Microsoft's next plan to expand its market layout. Therefore, when announcing the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Satya Nadella emphasized that games will become an indispensable element in the development of the Metaverse, and successfully acquiring Activision Blizzard's related assets is an inevitable goal for Microsoft.
