In the Computex 2022 keynote speech, AMD announced that it would cooperate with Corsair to propose theAdvantage laptop design solution, will launch Corsair's first gaming laptop "Voyager" in the second half of this year.
Just as Razer expanded from gaming peripherals into laptops to tap into the larger gaming market, Corsair has partnered with AMD to create the Voyager gaming laptop through its Advantage laptop design. The Voyager will integrate Corsair's Elgato STREAM DECK live streaming console software, along with an Elgato Full HD live-streaming-quality video camera and support for a four-microphone array for enhanced audio reception.
However, in addition to adopting the AMD Advantage laptop design, this laptop will also incorporate the Smart Access Storage technology unveiled this time, which will speed up game data access and improve audio and video streaming efficiency. The network connection part supports Wi-Fi 6E specifications.
The official name of this laptop is Voyager a1600. It is designed to be 19.8mm thick and weighs 2.4kg. The entry-level specification uses a Ryzen 7 6800HS processor, and can be equipped with a Ryzen 9 6900HS processor at the highest. It is also equipped with a Radeon RX 6800M graphics card and is advertised to be able to handle video creation and streaming computing performance such as Adobe After Effects or OBS Studio.
Other specifications include a 16-inch IPS screen with a resolution of 2560 x 1600, support for AMD FreeSync Premium anti-screen tearing technology, and 10 sets of hotkeys that can be operated via the LCD touch screen above the keyboard. Information such as the laptop's battery level can also be quickly viewed. Customizable settings can also be made with the Elgato Stream Deck software.
As for the connection ports, it supports two sets of USB 3 compatible with Thunderbolt 4.0 specifications, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C and one USB 1 Gen3.2 Type-A. The keyboard uses a CHERRY MX ultra-short-stroke keyboard and supports single-key or zoned CAPELLIX LED backlight settings. It also supports fingerprint recognition unlocking, SDXC 2 card reader and 7.0mm headphone jack.
In terms of suggested retail price, Voyager a1600 is sold at US$2699.99 and US$2999.99 respectively, and is expected to be officially launched in the second half of this year.
