Apple appears to be planning to replicate last year's "launch week" model for the Mac series with M4 processors, bombarding the market with press releases over three consecutive days to kick off its spring 2026 product lineup.
Apple just announced to global media and creators last weekSend an invitationApple has announced a special "Apple Experience" event to be held in multiple cities on March 4th. While many are wondering if this signifies a special spring launch event, Bloomberg News reporter Mark Gurman offers a different perspective.
According to MarK Gurman's latest "Power On" column...Refers toIt's likely that Apple's upcoming events will not feature a keynote address video. Instead, starting March 2nd, Apple will launch a three-day "press release and promotional video blitz," followed by a hands-on experience event on March 4th for media and creators to experience the new products firsthand.
Not just hardware, at least five "new products" are poised for launch.
Mark Gurman points out that despite the absence of a traditional launch event, the lineup for these three days is still quite impressive. Apple is expected to unveil "at least five" new products during this promotional campaign, which may include hardware devices, software updates, and a new generation of Apple Silicon processors.
The current list of candidates who have been nominated for a possible appearance includes:
• The new, affordable MacBook (most requested)
• iPhone 17e (if it wasn't announced ahead of schedule)
• MacBook Pro with M5 Pro/M5 Max processor
• MacBook Air with M5 processor
• iPad Air with M4 processor
• Entry-level iPad with A18 processor
Mac Studio with M5 Max/M5 Ultra processor
• Studio Display 2 screens
Regarding the aforementioned list, Mark Gurman specifically emphasized that there is a very high probability that a "new, affordable MacBook" will be unveiled, because the color scheme of the device recently rumored in the market happens to coincide with the visual colors on Apple's official invitation.
However, Mark Gurman added that if Apple were to announce both Mac Studio and Studio Display 2 at the same time during this event, it might be considered "information overload," so these two products may only be in the near future development roadmap and may not necessarily be launched in March.
Inventory in distribution channels is running low: many older models are ready to be handed over.
Another strong piece of evidence supporting the imminent release of the new device comes from the inventory levels at Apple Stores.
Mark Gurman revealed that current inventory levels of the iPhone 16e, iPad Air with M3 processor, MacBook Air with M4 processor, and MacBook Pro with M4 Pro/M4 Max processor are all nearly depleted in distribution channels. This is typically the clearest signal that Apple is preparing for a product generation transition.
