Featuring an ultra-lightweight body weighing only 165 grams, this new model incorporates flagship 8K 360-degree imaging technology, offering a more portable and effortless 360-degree shooting solution for creators looking to capture authentic and spontaneous life.
Inheriting the X series lineage, redefining portability
Insta360's X series has evolved through five generations and has become the benchmark in the 360-degree camera market. The newly released Insta360 X4 Air is clearly intended to expand beyond the X5 flagship model, creating a product line that emphasizes portability and creative freedom.
Its biggest selling point is its 165g weight, making it Insta360's lightest 8K 360-degree panoramic camera ever. Officials emphasize that its streamlined body is easy to store, whether in a pocket or backpack.
Max Richer, co-founder and vice president of marketing at Insta360, said the Insta360 X4 Air is designed for street, trail, and everyday use, allowing creators to "stay in the moment" while capturing everything around them. It is an ideal entry point for users trying 360-degree panoramic storytelling for the first time.
Introducing a 1/1.8-inch sensor and enhancing AI image processing

• AdaptiveTone intelligent exposure:This algorithm independently analyzes the light sources from both cameras, intelligently balancing the overall brightness and color of the 360-degree panoramic image. Insta360 claims this effectively preserves sky highlights and shadow details, eliminating the need for complex post-production color grading.
• ActiveHDR supports 8K30fps:Active HDR dynamic range technology has also been extended to support 8K 30fps video recording specifications, ensuring that both highlight and shadow details are clearly presented in scenes with complex lighting.
• Portrait Mode:This mode automatically detects faces and adjusts brightness and color accordingly, providing smoother, more natural skin tones.

AI intelligent control and "shoot first, frame later" workflow
The core experience of the Insta360 X4 Air is still "shoot first, frame later." It captures all angles through dual fisheye lenses. Users can then freely frame in the Insta360 app to find unexpected images.
"InstaFrame Mode" has also been added. In this mode, the camera can "simultaneously" record a flat video that can be shared immediately and a complete 360-degree panoramic image original file, allowing users to publish content quickly while retaining the flexibility of subsequent re-editing.
