In addition to promoting various types of handheld 360-degree panoramic cameras, Insta360 has announced that it will create a 360-degree panoramic camera accessory called Sphere for drones, allowing drones to capture complete panoramic images through this camera.
Sphere consists of two sets of fisheye lenses with a 35mm shooting focal length and f/2.0 aperture, and is equipped with a built-in battery, control interface, and a body that can be installed with a memory card. It is fixed to the drone through a snap-on method. As for the connection method, it supports low-power Bluetooth 4.2 and 2.4GHz band Wi-Fi.
Currently supported drones include DJI Mavic Air 2 and Mavic Air 2S, which claim to be able to ensure image stability through Insta360's FlowState anti-shake technology. The corresponding images can correspond to static panoramic images with a resolution of 6080 x 3040, and panoramic video content with a specification of 5.7K 30fps. The built-in 1050mAh battery can correspond to approximately 48 minutes of shooting time and can be charged via the USB-C interface.
Currently, Sphere will be sold in the Chinese market at a price of RMB 2798. Sales information in Taiwan and other regions has not yet been announced.
