The Wave body is designed to be the size of a 350ml water bottle and can be placed upright on a table. It has a built-in 3D eight-microphone array that can support reception within a range of up to five meters. It also has omnidirectional, cardioid, supercardioid, figure-8, and stereo reception modes. For users who are not familiar with reception technology, they can also directly choose the noise reduction mode.
The exterior design breaks away from the "black box" impression of traditional conference microphones. It features a cylindrical body with a vertical LED indicator light and a touch base. When powered on, the light effect rises, giving the overall visual a more technological feel.
Regarding connectivity, Wave connects to computers via USB or with the included wireless adapter. Certified for Zoom and Microsoft Teams, it also works with services like Google Meet and FaceTime. Its built-in AI audio chip and algorithms eliminate over 300 types of ambient noise and echo, ensuring clear vocal reception in open offices and homes.
What’s special is that Wave can also be used as an AI voice recorder with built-in 32GB of storage space. After recording is completed, it can be automatically uploaded to the cloud Insta360 Insight. It can also choose OpenAI’s GPT or Google’s Gemini AI model for summary and analysis, and can even identify different speakers.
The free version provides 300 minutes of AI transcription and summarization per month, while the professional plan provides an additional 1200 minutes of transcription and summarization, and provides content inference, custom vocabulary and AI dialogue compilation functions. The subscription fee is NT$599 per month or NT$3219 per year.
When paired with the previously released Insta360 Link 2 three-axis gimbal video camera, the Wave integrates with the camera through metal contacts on the camera body, creating an all-in-one video and audio device. The Insta360 Link 2's camera tracks the speaker, while Wave's voice recognition automatically switches the focus, making it ideal for interviews or discussions. Using the Insta360 Link Controller app, audio and video recording can be completed through a single connection, reducing interference between devices and cables.
In terms of suggested retail price, Wave will be sold at NT$10899, while the combination including the Insta360 Link 2 camera has a suggested retail price of NT$17889.
