Seagate recently launched the Seagate Gaming Firecuda "Star Wars" co-branded edition in conjunction with Star Wars Day. Essentially built on the Firecuda external hard drive, it allows users to use it as a more efficient external storage tool or use it in game consoles to store game content.
This time, I got the Seagate Gaming Firecuda "Star Wars" co-branded version of "Boba Fett". It is designed with the representative colors of "Boba Fett" and adds red LED lights to create a dynamic effect. It provides 2TB of storage capacity and can be used on Windows PC, Mac, or PlayStation and Xbox game consoles.
Boba Fett is a bounty hunter who appears in the original Star Wars trilogy. Originally, he had only four lines of dialogue and a total screen time of just 4 minutes and 6 seconds. In Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, he is hired by the Empire and Jabba to bring Han Solo back to Jabba after he is imprisoned by Carbonite. In Star Wars: Return of the Jedi, Boba Fett loses control of his rockets during a melee, causing Han Solo to accidentally trigger his rockets, causing him to fall into the mouth of a sandworm.
However, because he was loved by many fans, Boba Fett was "resurrected" again in "The Mandalorian" broadcast in 2019, emphasizing that he did not die in the mouth of the sandworm.
The hard drive itself is based on the Firecuda design, which enables faster access efficiency. It is connected to the device via a USB 3.2 Gen 1 cable. The total weight is only 167 grams and it also provides Rescue Data Recovery Services.
The 2TB capacity is more than enough for general data storage needs, and it also allows the game console to store more downloaded game content. When you want to play a specific game, you don't have to wait for the network to download. It is also enough to store about 50 PlayStation 4 games.
The installation process only takes 3 minutes at most and is generally intuitive and simple. However, the LED lights can currently only be set up on a Windows PC using the free Seagate Toolkit software.
Compared to the PS4 Game Drive "Marvel's Avengers" limited edition hard drive previously designed for PlayStation 4, the overall access efficiency performance of the newly released Seagate Gaming Firecuda "Star Wars" co-branded version is roughly the same.
