Sony again targetedPlaystation VR2Some feature details have been released, including the ability to use the PlayStation 5 HD Camera to live stream game footage and gameplay performance, and the ability to use PlayStation VR2 as a video playback device. It has also been confirmed that PlayStation VR2 will have a "see-through" function, allowing users to "see" external conditions directly with an external camera while wearing the headset.
Among them, the live broadcast function can cooperate with the PlayStation 5 HD Camera to capture the user's action performance during gameplay and integrate it with the game screen for live broadcast, thereby saving users the cost of additional image capture cards and green screen backgrounds that were required to achieve the same effect in the past. At the same time, the live broadcast content can also be directly uploaded to service platforms such as YouTube and Twitch.
If the PlayStation VR2 is used as a video playback device, the image can be presented at a 1080P resolution and played through a dynamic frame rate between 24Hz and 120Hz. However, this is obviously lower than the normal usage situation, where a single eye can correspond to a 2000 x 2040 resolution and a frame rate between 90Hz-120Hz. Perhaps considering that when watching videos, the user usually uses them for a longer continuous viewing time, so through the appropriate resolution and frame rate, the user's eye fatigue can be reduced.
As for the content of this update, it is also revealed that PlayStation VR2 also provides a "perspective" function, allowing users to view external conditions through external cameras while wearing it, or to set a boundary range so that the system can issue a warning when the user is about to approach the boundary.
Sony plans to announce more information about PlayStation VR2 in the future, including its upcoming release date and the games expected to be compatible with PlayStation VR2.
