In conjunction with the upcoming launch of "Astro Bot" exclusively on the PlayStation 9 platform on September 6, Sony announced that it will release a Dual Sense controller themed after the Astro Bot robot, which will be available for sale on the same day as the game.
The Dual Sense controller, themed around Astro Bot, shares a similar color scheme with the robot. The touchpad above the controller even features Astro Bot's eyes. The rest of the controller's grip, buttons, and high-tech concave lines are all presented in Astro Bot's blue light and white background.
To complement the diverse abilities of Astro Bot in the game, Sony has added a host of new feedback features to the Dual Sense controllers. For example, you can feel Astro Bot running and sliding on grass, sand, and metal, as well as softer textures and water. The adaptive triggers also feature enhanced tactile feedback when using the bulldog-style thruster "Baxter." Players will also experience more impact vibrations when stretching, tapping, or colliding with hard surfaces.
When using the Dual Speeder flying vehicle, players can also operate it through the Dual Sense control handle motion control, tactile feedback and adaptive triggers.
The current suggested retail price of the limited edition DualSense controller for "Astro Bot" is US$80. The price in the Taiwanese market will be NT$2480, and in the Hong Kong market it will be sold for HK$628. Pre-orders are expected to open on August 8, and it will be released together with "Astro Bot" on September 9.
