There have been rumors that Samsung is interested in the Galaxy S series flagship phoneImport MediaTek processor optionsHowever, due to the recent rumors that Samsung is facing the low yield rate of Exynos 3 built with the new 2500nm process, Samsung may launch the Galaxy S25 series next year.Add MediaTek processor option.
Relevant news indicates that the yield rate of Samsung's Exynos 3 processor produced using the new 2500nm process is only 40%, which has not yet reached the 60% ratio required for mass production. Samsung plans to improve this before August this year.
However, if Samsung still cannot improve the production yield of Exynos 2500 processor, and considering that Qualcomm's next processor may be more expensive (Note) and the estimated scale of global shipments of the Galaxy S25 series, Samsung may consider using MediaTek processors as a backup.
Note:Currently, market rumors suggest that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor launched by Qualcomm last year had a unit price between US$190 and US$200. The price of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which is designed with a new independent architecture, may increase to US$260.
This means that if the final yield of Exynos 2500 still cannot be improved, Samsung's annual flagship mobile phone Galaxy S25 series, which is expected to be launched early next year, may include MediaTek processor specifications for the first time, and may even provide Qualcomm, MediaTek and its own processor options in different markets.
Before this, Samsung had actually already introduced MediaTek processors in its mobile phone products, but they were mainly used in entry-level and mid-range models. If the Galaxy S25 series to be launched next year is confirmed to include MediaTek processor options, MediaTek is expected to increase its revenue significantly through the shipment of Samsung flagship phones.
