After showcasing its first smartwatch at CES 2015, Alcatel OneTouch showcased its new idol 2015 series at MWC 3, which can answer calls normally even when turned upside down. The new models are available in 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch versions.
Although the idol 3 series of new phones exhibited by Alcatel OneTouch do not look particularly special, the upper and lower ends of the front of the phone have the same appearance design, and are each equipped with a microphone and earpiece design. In addition, the new version of the Android operating system has a display direction that can be freely flipped, allowing users to answer calls in either direction through the "orientation-free" design concept.
According to Alcatel OneTouch, this design is mainly for the situation that many people may hold the phone upside down in a panic when a call comes in, so that users can still make calls normally when the phone is held upside down. On the other hand, this design can also reduce the risk of the phone falling when it is turned upright in a panic.
In addition, the idol 3 series also addsEyeVerify's Eyeprint ID biometric technology is based on identifying the distribution of blood vessels in the white of the eye, allowing users to unlock their phones by scanning their eyes. This feature is also available on the ZTE Grand S3 launched by ZTE.
