Nutanix shared its collaboration with the Taiwan e-Card Ticketing Company, successfully migrating 97% of the e-Card's operating systems, originally built on VMware's cloud environment, to the Nutanix cloud platform. By managing all applications and data through a single platform, the company provides stronger technical support for the stored-value cards and electronic payment services used daily by Taiwanese citizens.
Significant results in IT architecture modernization
Since partnering with Nutanix in 2018, Yikatong has modernized its traditional three-tier architecture using Nutanix cloud infrastructure solutions, including AHV enterprise virtualization and Cloud Manager. Currently, Yikatong has fully deployed its critical applications, including its ERP system, e-payment system, self-developed apps, and Teams communication software, on Nutanix services to support innovative development and large-scale transactions.
Resource integration and efficiency improvement
After implementing the Nutanix solution, the all-in-one card system successfully broke through the dual bottlenecks of data center space and power load, saving 140U of cabinet space and increasing infrastructure equipment utilization to 40-50%. Furthermore, by centrally managing multiple cluster resources through NCM, maintenance and operations staff was reduced from nine to just one, allowing the IT team to focus more on developing innovative applications.
In terms of sustainable development, after migrating its ERP system to Nutanix cloud infrastructure, Yikatong reduced the number of hosts from over ten to single digits, effectively extending hardware lifespan, reducing energy consumption and carbon footprint, and complying with ISO 27001 and PCI-DSS certification requirements.

future development plan
Looking ahead, Yikatong will actively research containerization and cloud-native applications, and focus on new technologies such as the Nutanix Kubernetes platform. The company hopes to integrate cloud and on-premises Kubernetes clusters into a single management interface, further streamlining maintenance and operations processes. This will allow IT teams to focus more on high-value tasks and accelerate the launch of innovative services.
Jay Tuseth, Vice President and General Manager of Nutanix Asia Pacific and Japan, said: "Ikara's successful transformation demonstrates the value of Nutanix in helping enterprises improve operational agility, optimize resource allocation, and achieve ESG goals." This collaborative achievement also provides an important reference case for the digital transformation of Taiwan's fintech industry.
