In terms of appearance, the Mate 70 series is similar to the Honor Mate 10 series launched in October.Honor X60 series modelsThey are extremely similar. Both the standard and Pro models are available in four colors: Obsidian Black, Snow White, Spruce Green, and Hyacinth Purple. In addition, Huawei has also launched the ULTIMATE DESIGN model in the Mate 70 series, and named it Mate 70 RS. It is available in three colors: black, white and red. The memory capacity is 16GB, and the storage capacity is 512GB and 1TB respectively.
To meet the needs of those who want to experience the features of the next version of HarmonyOS, Huawei is offering the HarmonyOS NEXT Pioneer Edition on the Mate 70 Pro, which features 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. However, Huawei will retain the HarmonyOS operating system, which is compatible with Android platform apps, in this new phone.
All Mate 70 series models are equipped with IP68/69 protection ratings and feature side fingerprint recognition for unlocking. The Mate 70 features a 6.7-inch, 2688 x 1212 resolution flat OLED display, while the Mate 70 Pro and Mate 70 Pro+ feature 6.9-inch, 2832 x 1316 resolution, four-sided slightly curved OLED displays. Both feature a 120Hz refresh rate and 2500 nits peak brightness, but the Mate 70 RS increases this to 3500 nits peak brightness and utilizes a dual-layer OLED display with a ceramic back.
Processor specifications have also been kept secret, but Huawei claims a 40% performance improvement over the previous generation. This likely reflects the Kirin 9020 processor, which supports satellite communications and the ability to maintain a connection once connected to a satellite signal. Other specifications include a 70mAh battery in the Mate 5300 with 66W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging, while the Mate 70 Pro and Mate 70 Pro+ feature 5500mAh and 5700mAh batteries, respectively, both supporting 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging.
