Huawei officially announced the launch ofIts three-sided folding screen phone Mate XTIt is also the world's first three-sided concave screen mobile phone product to enter mass production. The thinnest body is only 3.6mm. The display screen when flattened is 10.2 inches, and the display size when folded is 6.4 inches. The thickness is 12.8mm. The display area when the two screens are unfolded is 7.9 inches, and the entire screen resolution is 2234 x 3184.
To create the Mate XT, a three-sided concave folding phone, Huawei adopted a "Tiangong" hinge design with dual-track linkage. This design uses an integrated connecting rod to reduce the outer hinge's movement space, and uses embedded slides to reduce the inner hinge's angle. This provides a certain degree of support for the screen when unfolded, allowing the display to remain normally usable after being flattened.
The screen itself uses an OLED display panel and is made of a multi-directional concave soft material to cope with the tensile and compressive forces required for the three-sided concave screen mobile phone to fold outward and inward at the same time. The hinge is made of rocket steel with a deformation resistance strength of 1900MPa.
However, Huawei did not disclose the lifespan of the phone's hinge or the number of times the screen can be folded and used normally.
The Mate XT weighs 298 grams and uses side fingerprint recognition to unlock the phone for identity verification. It comes in two colors: Red and Black. The processor specifications have not been announced, but it supports 5G networking. The memory is 16GB, with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB storage capacities. The battery is designed with a 5600mAh specification and supports 66W wired fast charging, 5W reverse charging, 50W wireless charging and 7.5W wireless reverse charging.
In terms of camera, it is equipped with an 800-megapixel video lens, and the main camera on the back is equipped with a 5000-megapixel wide-angle lens, a 1200-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 1200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, which can achieve up to 5.5x optical zoom.
The Mate XT will be endorsed by Andy Lau and will be available for pre-order in the Chinese market from now on, with a starting price of RMB 19999 and a maximum price of RMB 23999.
In addition to Huawei's three-sided foldable phone, other companies including Xiaomi, OPPO, and TECNO are also planning to launchProducts with the same design.
