Huawei unexpectedly announced the Mate 70 Air, which has been the subject of much recent speculation, through its official channels. While the name seems to be intentionally targeting Apple's... iPhone AirHowever, their product positioning is different.
Compared to the iPhone Air's pursuit of extreme thinness and lightness, the Mate 70 Air packs a larger 7-inch screen and a 6500mAh high-capacity battery into a 6.6mm thin body, while keeping the weight at 208 grams. It also features symmetrical dual speakers and stylus support, making it more geared towards multimedia entertainment and light office use.

In terms of specifications, the Mate 70 Air offers two processor options: "Kirin 9020A" and "Kirin 9020B". Although Huawei has not released specific details, based on their corresponding memory and storage capacity specifications, the Kirin 9020A is likely positioned higher than the Kirin 9020B.
The screen is a 7-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2760 x 1320 and supports a 120Hz refresh rate. However, it seems that the system options can only adjust the refresh rate to 60Hz or 90Hz. The body is also equipped with IP68/69 dust and water resistance.
In addition, battery life is one of the highlights of this new phone, featuring a 6500mAh battery and supporting 66W wired charging. Furthermore, the phone supports two-way BeiDou satellite communication, and fingerprint recognition is achieved through a side-mounted fingerprint module integrated into the power button.

In terms of camera system, the Mate 70 Air features a 1070-megapixel front-facing camera.
The rear of the camera features a triple-lens configuration, including:

• 1200MP RYYB 3X telephoto lens
In addition, a 150-megapixel "Red Maple" multispectral primary color camera has been added to the module to assist in color reproduction and ensure image color accuracy.

The Huawei Mate 70 Air is priced between RMB 4199 and RMB 5199 (depending on the processor and storage capacity). It is currently available for pre-order in the Chinese mainland market and is expected to officially go on sale on November 11.
