Huawei officially unveiled the new nova 12 series of mobile phones earlier, launching three models: nova 12, nova 12 Pro and nova 12 Ultra, all equipped with its self-developed 5G networking processor Kirin 8000.
As before, Huawei did not specify the specific details of the Kirin 8000, only confirming that it will be compatible with 5G connectivity services and positioned at mid-to-high-end computing performance.
The nova 12 features a 6.7-inch, Full HD+ resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate dual-sided curved OLED screen, while the nova 12 Pro and nova 12 Ultra feature a 6.76-inch screen with LTPO display panel technology and 2160Hz dynamic dimming. They also support sending emergency distress messages via Beidou satellites.
nova 12 is available in three colors: No. 12 Blue, Golden Black and Sakura White. Nova 120 Pro is additionally available in Sakura Pink as part of the Heart Key Set. As for the nova 12 Ultra, the back of the body is embossed with leather, and the Sakura White color is replaced with Smoky Gray.
In terms of specifications, all three phones are equipped with a 4600mAh battery capacity and 100W wired fast charging. The nova 12 is equipped with 8GB of memory and 256GB or 512GB of storage capacity. The nova 12 Pro is upgraded to 12GB of memory, with 256GB or 512GB of storage capacity, and the nova 12 Ultra is equipped with 12GB of memory and provides 512GB or 1TB of storage capacity.
In terms of cameras, all three phones are equipped with a 6000-megapixel video camera, while the main camera is equipped with a 5000-megapixel wide-angle lens with an RYYB sensor design, and an 800-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The nova 12 Pro and nova 12 Ultra have an additional 100-degree shooting angle specification in the video camera, and an 800-megapixel 2x close-up combination. The main camera is equipped with a 5000-megapixel wide-angle lens with an RYYB sensor design, and a variable aperture design of f/1.4-f/4.0, and also provides an 800-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens combination.
In terms of suggested retail price, the nova 12 series will be sold at a starting price of RMB 3399 and will be available in the Chinese market from now on. There are no plans to launch it in other markets yet.
