Huawei announced at the 5th Huawei Developer Conference held earlier in Songshan Lake, Dongguan, GuangzhouHongmeng OS 4.0 (HarmonyOS 4), which adds automatically generated artificial intelligence to the digital assistant service Xiaoyi to improve voice, semantic, and image recognition capabilities, and can provide functions such as automatic image generation, summary document key points, and content rewriting. The operation interface adds message prompt visual effects similar to iOS 17, while strengthening the cross-platform integration application effect between different vehicles.
In the previously launched HarmonyOS 3.0, Huawei stated that it has been installed and used on more than 7 million devices, and the HarmonyOS brand awareness has reached 85%, and the installation and upgrade rate has reached 77%, making it a very large operating system ecosystem.
The new version of Hongmeng OS 4.0 adopts the new Ark engine design to enhance the display of images and multimedia content, as well as the efficiency of storage and computing power consumption, improving system fluency by 20% and extending device battery life by 30 minutes.
On the other hand, the new system also enhances the personalized screen settings when the screen is locked, and further enhances the App data tracking management function, allowing users to decide whether to allow personal data tracking across apps and web content.
Huawei has also introduced a new short-range wireless connection transmission technology called "Nearlink". Through Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, data can be quickly exchanged between corresponding devices. It can operate with lower latency, longer connection distance, and more stable connection transmission effects. At the same time, it can increase speed by 6 times compared to traditional wireless transmission technologies and reduce power loss by 60%.
However, Huawei has not yet announced too many details about the "Star Flash" technology, but it is not surprising that it will compete with Apple AirDrop and Google Nearby Share technology, and at the same time improve the convenience of data transfer between devices equipped with the Harmony operating system.
The new version of HarmonyOS 4.0 is now open for testing on the Mate 50 series, P60 series, and models including Mate X3 and MatePad Pro 12.6, and more devices will be open for testing in the second half of the year.
This time, Huawei also launched a developer preview version of HarmonyOS Next, which will include the latest version of HarmonyOS testing functions and other resources, allowing developers to preview more experimental features and development tools in advance, thereby continuously optimizing HarmonyOS.
