HTC announced today (April 4th) that it is partnering with AT&T, Mynd Immersive, an innovator in immersive senior healthcare, and Select Rehabilitation, the nation’s largest contract rehabilitation service provider, to jointly promote a new generation of immersive XR therapy programs for senior care facilities nationwide.
This collaboration took a key step forward in the first quarter of 2025, successfully expanding the digital healthcare landscape across the United States by introducing the immersive XR therapy platforms MyndXR and VIVE XR Elite to over 150 senior care facilities and communities. This marks the largest-ever rollout of immersive XR therapy applications in senior care in the United States and is expected to benefit over 45000 seniors.
Mynd Immersive specializes in providing immersive healthcare solutions for seniors. Through partnerships with HTC, AT&T, and Select Rehabilitation, the company is committed to promoting clinically proven immersive treatment models and actively expanding innovative applications in areas such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.
"From the beginning, we believed virtual reality could significantly improve the quality of life and health outcomes for seniors," said Chris Brickler, co-founder and CEO of Mynd Immersive. "Today, Mynd has become an integral part of healthcare, demonstrating tangible and sustainable results in functional therapy, cognitive interaction, and caregiver training."
The newly introduced MyndXR platform, combined with HTC's lightweight head-mounted device VIVE XR Elite, provides an immersive AR, MR, and VR experience that combines comfort, clinically-oriented design, and evidence-based efficacy, fully supporting the rehabilitation and care application needs of elderly care institutions.
Select Rehabilitation, the largest contract rehabilitation provider in the United States with over 2 professional therapists, has implemented the MyndXR solution in its partner communities to further enhance the effectiveness of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Through technology-assisted therapy, it provides seniors with greater companionship and support during their rehabilitation process, comprehensively improving their overall cognitive, emotional, and physical well-being.
"Our partnership with Mynd enables therapists to engage with patients in more meaningful and motivating ways, leading to tangible clinical outcomes," said Anna Wolfe, CEO of Select Rehabilitation. "Through these tools, we are creating the therapy space of the future, and it's happening today. Our therapy teams can now guide seniors through therapies like range of motion improvement, strength and gait training, spatial awareness development, and Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) in an immersive environment, making rehabilitation not only effective but also enjoyable and engaging."
HTC Founder and Chairman Cher Wang said, "Aging is a global challenge. It's estimated that by 2050, the global population aged 65 and over will exceed 16 billion. It's deeply moving to see our technology bring healing and joy to seniors. We are honored to partner with Mynd Immersive to make a tangible and positive impact in people's lives, continuing HTC's vision of seamlessly integrating technology and humanity to unleash people's imagination and benefit humanity."
Currently, the Mynd team is steadily expanding at a rate of introducing and training 25 care facility communities per week, gradually establishing a new standard for immersive and evidence-based elderly care, and creating a new milestone for the global digital health industry.
