The Elite Dragonfly features a 13.3-inch screen with a choice of 1080P or 4K resolution. The screen itself uses an IPS eDP panel and a PSR VrightView WLED backlight design, which can correspond to 400 nits of brightness and a 72% NTSC color gamut. It is protected by Corning Gorilla 5 Glass. You can also choose to use the HP Sure View screen privacy protection design and a backlight specification with a brightness of up to 1000 nits.
Although it complies with Intel Project Athena design specifications, HP did not use the new Intel 10th generation Core i series processor in the Elite Dragonfly, but chose the 8th generation Core i series processor specifications. However, the entry-level model is equipped with a Core i3-8145U processor, which is indeed IntelEarly production specifications using 10nm process technology.
As for the memory, you can choose 16GB LPDDR3-2133 and pair it with a 512GB Intel PCIe NVMe QLC M.2 SSD and a 32GB Intel Optane H10 module to speed up data access efficiency. However, the entry-level model only offers a 128GB M.2 SATA3 TLC SSD.
For the operating system, you can choose to use the 64-bit version of Windows 10 Professional, Home Edition, or a single language version, and you can even choose to install FreeDOS.
The laptop also comes with an optional Active Pen G3 stylus and a choice of an Intel XMM 7560 LTE-A Pro Cat 16 modem or an XMM 7360 LTE-A Cat 9 modem, allowing for direct SIM card connectivity. The battery comes in two sizes: 56.2Wh or 38Wh, and is recharged with an HP Smart 65W USB Type-C charger.
The Elite Dragonfly will start at $1549 and is expected to launch in the US on October 10. In addition to the Elite Dragonfly, HP also released a new monitor, Bluetooth mouse, and a new laptop case.
