Yoshihiko Shindo, who runs the YouTube channel "Yoziness" with over 37 subscribers and over 10 followers on Instagram, is a full-time YouTuber and content creator living in Taiwan. Today (July 7), he shared how he used the Apple product ecosystem to establish a weekly workflow for his own content creation.

Yoshihiko Shindo said that he started to consume a lot of YouTube channel content when he was six months old. At the same time, he followed his brother to be exposed to Apple products since he was a child, starting with the earliest iPod Shuffle and iPod nano, and later the MacBook Air he started using when he was in school.

His real foray into video content creation began when he received a GoPro camera from his girlfriend at the age of 20, allowing him to begin filming and editing his own videos. Prior to this, Shindo Yoshihiko also revealed that he had visited a professional editing studio to edit his own videos, and that was when he first learned what editing actually entailed (and also the market price associated with professional editing).
After starting to shoot and edit on his own, and completing the entire workflow by himself, Yoshihiko Shindo said that only after accumulating more than 10 followers and subscribers did he decide to treat YouTube content creation as his personal job and devote himself to it. He also announced weekly updates to give himself more motivation to continue creating.
However, Yoshihiko Shindo also said that he has a procrastination problem like many people, so he often puts things off until the last minute to complete them. Although he will use calendars, Notion, Googlenotes, etc. to record the latest completion date of the work, he often ends up staying up late to work overtime, almost finishing the work just on the deadline (the author can empathize with him).

Therefore, in addition to continuing to devote himself to his personal creative passion, Yoshihiko Shindo also said that Apple's complete ecosystem helps him work more smoothly, especially by synchronizing all data through iCloud, transferring files between different devices through AirDrop, and continuing or connecting workflows on different devices through the relay function. He will use different devices individually according to different work needs, and even speed up overall work efficiency.

Regarding the main models currently used, Yoshihiko Shindo said that if he needs to edit more complex videos with more layered data, he will use Mac Studio equipped with M2 Max processor. The current Mac mini equipped with M4 processor can meet the sufficient editing performance requirements in a small body, and can also be carried and used when working abroad. It can even be used with Studio Display external monitor to ensure color consistency in edited videos.
In addition, the MacBook Air equipped with an M4 processor is currently a convenient and portable device for preliminary editing. In addition, the iPad Pro, which is also equipped with an M4 processor, can be used with Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard to quickly sketch, create drafts, or make storyboards as a creative aid.

As for the software used for editing, Yoshihiko Shindo revealed that before the number of subscribers exceeded 10, all videos were actually completed using iMovie. Since subsequent creations required more complex editing operations, they upgraded to Final Cut Pro, and used software such as Procreate as an auxiliary. At the same time, the equipment was also upgraded to a more high-performance MacBook Pro.

As he is of Taiwanese and Japanese descent and grew up in Japan as a child, although Yoshihiko Shindo can listen to, speak, and even write Chinese, he has no idea how to use Zhuyin or Pinyin to input Chinese. Therefore, when he needs to input Chinese in his creations, he actually uses dictation and Apple Pencil writing to convert it into digital text. This is also the reason why Yoshihiko Shindo prefers to use Apple products.

For those hoping to enter the creative market, Shindo Yoshihiko believes that the most important thing is how to present personal characteristics. Although there has always been a saying that YouTube content can drive traffic through "traffic codes" and "applying formulas", the real direction is how to develop a personal style.
Yoshihiko Shindo also explained that, as he initially only used iMovie for editing, the equipment he used was not actually high-end, but if the creation grows to a certain scale (for example, the number of fans exceeds 10), he must examine his future creative needs and perhaps increase the necessary equipment investment.
For example, when mentioning his severe procrastination problem, Shindo Yoshihiko said that it is important to choose a Mac model with higher processing efficiency and faster output speed, and to simplify personal workflow through the Apple ecosystem (but he still hopes to improve his procrastination habit), while gaining a sense of security in his work from the equipment, so that he can have more time to devote to creation.
