Honor officially launched its new small-sized foldable phone, the Magic V Flip8, today (August 21st). Breaking the limitations of small-sized foldable phones in terms of battery and image capture specifications, it has become one of the few foldable phones on the market that combines high performance with long battery life.
The Magic V Flip2 features a punch-hole display similar to the Motorola Razr series. The front of the device features a 4-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1200 x 1092, which supports a variety of notification displays and interactions. Inside, a 6.82-inch foldable OLED screen with a resolution of 2868 x 1232 provides a complete flagship-level visual experience.
The body weighs only 204 grams, is 15.5mm thick when folded, and only 6.9mm when unfolded. It also has IP58/IP59 dust and water resistance, making it safer for daily use.
The Magic V Flip2 features a 2-megapixel wide-angle lens paired with a 5000-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, allowing the compact foldable phone to capture flagship-quality images. A 5000-megapixel video camera nestled within the internal display cutout also provides high-resolution selfies and video capture.
In terms of processor and other specifications, the Magic V Flip2 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 computing platform, with up to 16GB of memory and 1TB of storage capacity. The battery capacity is as high as 5500mAh, supporting 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging, solving the pain point of previous foldable phones with poor battery life.
In terms of color matching, in addition to the conventional white, gray and purple color matching, Honor also launched the "Dream Blue" style with a blue crystal texture as the main feature, created in collaboration with designer Jimmy Choo, to further highlight the product positioning.
In terms of price, the Magic V Flip2 will be sold at a price between RMB 5499 and RMB 7499. It is currently available for pre-sale in the Chinese market, but no further information has been announced as to whether it will be further sold in overseas markets.
