HONOR recently announced that it will hold a new product launch event on January 5, 2026 at 7:30 PM, to launch the HONOR Power 2, which focuses on extreme battery life and performance. This new phone will be the first to use MediaTek's new Dimensity 8500 Elite processor and will also pack an astonishingly large 10080mAh battery.
Dimensity 8500 Elite Debut: All-Big-Core Architecture Delegated
According to data revealed by Geekbench, the Dimensity 8500 Elite processor in the HONOR Power 2 adopts the same all-big-core architecture design as flagship processors, consisting of 8 Cortex-A725 cores, with the following specific configuration:
• 1 set of 3.4GHz super cores
• 3 groups of 3.2GHz large cores
• 4 groups of 2.2GHz mid-cores
The GPU is a Mali-G720 MC8, which the company claims achieves an AnTuTu benchmark score of over 240 million, currently ranking first among products in its class. In terms of specifications, this processor can be considered an "overclocked and enhanced version" of the Dimensity 8400, with its theoretical GPU performance even surpassing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.
A 10080mAh battery monster, say goodbye to urine bags.
The biggest selling point of the HONOR Power 2 is undoubtedly its battery capacity. Following the 10000mAh battery of the previous HONOR WIN series, the HONOR Power 2 further increases the capacity to 10080mAh. With 80W wired fast charging, this phone is clearly tailor-made for delivery drivers, outdoor workers, or heavy mobile gamers, basically eliminating the need to carry a power bank when going out all day.
Other design features include IP68, IP69, and IP69K waterproof and dustproof ratings, and it boasts that the second-generation Honor Fox communication system improves communication capabilities in elevator environments by 200%.
A tribute to the design? The "Starry Orange" color scheme has a fruity feel to it.
In terms of design, the HONOR Power 2 features a rear-mounted horizontal matrix DECO camera module. Interestingly, the orange version released by the manufacturer has a hue and texture that are highly similar to Apple's iPhone 17 Pro Max "Cosmic Orange" color, leading netizens to jokingly call it "full of Apple flavor."
