At the MWC 2026 pre-show event, in addition to unveiling the slim and lightweight foldable phone to be launched in the international market...MagicV6Preparing to enter the mass marketRobot PhoneHonor also announced a strategic technology partnership with ARRI, a major German film camera manufacturer. The two companies will collaborate to bring Hollywood-level color science and professional production processes to consumer smartphones, with the first wave of collaborative technologies being applied to the newly unveiled Robot Phone concept phone.
As hardware specifications for still photography reach their limits, major smartphone manufacturers are actively seeking the next breakthrough in imaging. This time, Honor has directly partnered with ARRI, the century-old German company that dominates global film industry standards, aiming to establish a new mobile imaging standard in "dynamic recording" and "cinematic storytelling."
ARRI, a legendary film company with a century-long history, is venturing into the consumer smartphone market for the first time.
For the average consumer, the name ARRI may not be as familiar as Leica or Zeiss. But in the professional film and television production world, ARRI is the undisputed king.
Founded in 1917 and headquartered in Munich, Germany, ARRI has been involved in the creation of countless Hollywood classics for over a century. Its top-of-the-line digital camera systems (such as the ALEXA series) are not only the preferred equipment of top directors, but ARRI has also won a total of 20 Academy Awards for Scientific and Technical Achievement and numerous Emmy Awards for Engineering.
This strategic partnership with Honor marks the "first" direct integration of ARRI's core imaging science technology with a consumer smartphone. This means that in the future, Honor users will have the opportunity to directly experience ARRI's signature cinematic color science, ultimate high dynamic range visuals, and professional-grade post-production workflows on their phones.
The AiMAGE system has evolved again, launching its first camera to compete directly with the Robot Phone gimbal camera.
This Hollywood-level imaging technology will be deeply integrated with Honor's own AI imaging architecture.
In 2025, Honor launched its own imaging technology brand, "AiMAGE," which focuses on unleashing creativity through the deep integration of AI and imaging. AiMAGE has computational photography capabilities that are collaborative between the device and the cloud, enabling AI image enhancement and magic retouching functions in all scenarios.
With the addition of ARRI's technology, Honor's mobile imaging performance has undoubtedly been greatly enhanced.
Honor has confirmed that the first wave of technological collaboration results will be applied to the Robot Phone concept phone. Combined with its built-in "miniature telescopic mechanical gimbal" and ARRI's cinematic color calibration, the Robot Phone will obviously become a handheld movie shooting tool tailored for vloggers and professional video creators.
If all goes well, the technical collaboration with ARRI will be seen in more Honor phones in the future, and there may even be more possibilities for its application.
