After recently announcing the upcoming unveiling of its first large electric motorcycle with fast charging support, Honda officially launched an electric street bike with a fixed lithium battery in Europe.Honda WN7,並且鎖定中大型街車市場,直接對標 600cc排氣量的內燃機車款性能規格。而Honda更確認新車將於今年11月4日率先於歐洲市場推出,建議售價為15000歐元 (約新台幣53萬4000元)。
Honda said that the name WN7 has a very direct meaning. "W" symbolizes "Be the Wind", emphasizing the feeling of freedom like the wind when riding. "N" is the naked street car positioning, and "7" represents the vehicle's output level.
The new car is available in two versions: 18 kWh (requires an EU A2 driver's license and must be 18 years of age or older) and 11 kWh (requires an EU A1 driver's license and must be 16 years of age or older). It has a maximum output power of 50 kW and a torque of 100 N·m. Officials even claim that its performance is comparable to that of a traditional 600cc internal combustion engine street car, while its torque performance is closer to that of a 1000cc model, focusing on both performance and smooth acceleration.
In terms of battery life, the WN7 can reach 130 kilometers under European test standards and supports CCS2 fast charging specifications, which can replenish the battery from 30% to 20% in about 80 minutes. It also supports household AC charging and can complete charging within three hours, giving owners more flexibility for daily commuting or holiday riding.
The WN7 features a 5-inch TFT full-color instrument panel and supports Honda RoadSync connectivity, providing navigation, call, and music controls, with smartphone integration. The design maintains the sleek silhouette of a street bike, with a curb weight of 217 kg and a seat height of 800 mm, balancing stability and rider friendliness, ideal for both urban and suburban long-distance riding.
For Honda, the WN7 is not only a key new addition to its electric two-wheeler lineup but also a crucial step in the brand's expansion into the European market. With European countries gradually tightening emissions regulations, electric motorcycles have become an inevitable trend for automakers. The WN7, with performance approaching that of traditional gasoline-powered street bikes, coupled with comprehensive charging and smart features, is clearly Honda's entry point into the high-performance electric vehicle market.
The WN7 will be officially launched on November 11, with the first wave targeting the European market. Honda has not disclosed whether it will be introduced to Asian markets including Taiwan in the future, but given its product positioning and electrification trend, it is almost foreseeable that it will be launched in more regions in the future.
