Honda Mobile Power Pack e:, a battery swap system previously proposed by Honda, has now applied for a related patent in Taiwan under the name of Honda Motor Co., Ltd., which includes the operating procedures of the battery swap system and the operating logic of the battery replacement system.
It is currently unclear whether Honda plans to set up its battery swap system in Taiwan. Previously, Gogoro and Kymco Ionex have already built a large number of battery swap systems in Taiwan. Sanyang also recently revealed that it will cooperate with CPC to establish its own battery swap station system to compete for Taiwan's two-wheeled electric vehicle battery swap application market. If Honda also announces that it will join the competition, the Taiwanese market will have at least 4 different specifications of battery swap systems.
Honda has established its own battery swap system in Japan and has also partnered with Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki and Japan's largest oil company ENEOS to form a joint venture in the battery swap system.「Gachaco」 (ガチャコ) Battery Exchange System Alliance, and on October 10, it provided battery replacement services for commercial electric motorcycles in Japan, and even worked with YAMAHA and other car manufacturers such as KTM and Piaggio to establish"SBMC" The Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium (Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium) has attracted automakers including AVL, Ciklo, Fivebikes, Forsee Power, Hioki, Hyba, JAMA, Kawasaki, KYMCO, Niu, Polaris, Roki, Samsung, SINBON, Sumitomo Electric, Suzuki, Swobbee, Vitesco, and VeNetWork to join the cooperation.
The patent application in Taiwan may be an extension of the "SBMC" battery swap system alliance, but it could also be simply a design patent application, or a patent necessary for specific business development, or even further collaboration with Kymco in the "SBMC" battery swap system alliance. However, Honda has not yet announced the availability of its own battery swap system in Taiwan.
In addition, India's largest motorcycle brandMotoCorp HeroAfter promoting PBGN design and smart battery swap network applications in India, it also cooperated with Honda on its battery swap system and integrated it with India's local three-wheeled taxis "Tuk-Tuk" to promote the application of electric vehicles. It also shows that Honda is actively promoting its battery swap system "Honda Mobile Power Pack e:" in the global market.
