During IFA 2022, HMD Global announced the launch of three mobile phones: Nokia X30 5G, Nokia G60 5G and Nokia C31. It also announced that it will launch a mobile phone subscription service called "Circular", allowing users to use mobile phone products in a more environmentally friendly way.
According to HMD Global, the products launched this time are all built with a focus on being more environmentally friendly and sustainable. For example, the Nokia X30 5G uses 100% recycled aluminum for its frame, while the back cover is made of 65% recycled plastic. The Nokia G60 5G also uses 100% recycled aluminum for its frame, while the back cover is made of 60% recycled plastic. In addition, the phone box design is designed to reduce the space it takes up, and it has obtained FSC Forest Stewardship Council certification, emphasizing that its mobile phone products can further achieve carbon reduction goals.
HMD Global also emphasized that its mobile phone products are guaranteed to have at least three years of operating system upgrades, thus ensuring that the mobile phones have a longer service life and will not become unusable too quickly.
Entering the mobile subscription market
The "Circular" mobile phone subscription service, which was announced at the same time, will be initially available in the UK and Germany, but will be available in more markets around the world in the coming months. Users can subscribe for a starting amount of £12.50 per month (approximately NT$450) to "subscribe" to use any Nokia-branded mobile phone launched by HMD Global, and HMD Global will provide subsequent maintenance. If the phone can no longer be used, or is stolen or lost for some reason, it can be replaced with a new phone to continue using.
However, this service must be used for a full three months before you can choose to terminate it at any time or request to exchange it for another phone model. However, if you are not satisfied with the service within 3 days of the trial, you can choose a full refund. As for this service, users can choose to continue using their existing mobile phone number or use the HMD Mobile SIM number service provided by HMD Global in the UK and other places.
