GoPro, which has recently announced news about its new phone, officially announced the launch of its latest design HERO8 Black. It also launched the GoPro Max, a 360-degree panoramic camera with front and rear lenses.
The GoPro HERO 8 Black is similar in appearance to previous models and also emphasizes the ability to expand its usage with a variety of accessories. However, the weight of the body is reduced by 14% compared to the previous model. The bottom is directly equipped with a flip-up accessory connection interface design, eliminating the need for additional fixing accessories such as external boxes. The shooting size is also divided into four settings: ultra-wide field of view, wide field of view, linear field of view, and extremely narrow field of view. The suggested retail price is US$399.99. Pre-orders are expected to be open from October 10, and the official launch time is October 15.
In terms of functions, the new version of HyperSmooth 2.0 will be able to respond to the video shooting mode and frame refresh rate, and can also make video shooting more stable through the level. As for TimeWarp 2.0, it can instantly adjust the video shooting rate based on action mode, scene recognition, and light brightness. In addition, a separately designed slow-motion button has been added, allowing users to immediately shoot slow-motion videos.
Accessories include a cold shoe mount with a built-in microphone, USB-C, and HDMI ports, with a suggested retail price of $79.99. A 2-inch external monitor and flip-up selfie accessories are also priced at $79.99. Another LED fill light accessory is protected to 10 meters underwater and offers 200 lumens of illumination, with a suggested retail price of $49.99.
The 360-degree panoramic camera GoPro Max, which was launched simultaneously, is priced at US$499.99. It can also shoot panoramic images with the front and rear lenses, and also provides four shooting modes: ultra-wide field of view, wide field of view, linear field of view and extremely narrow field of view. If combined with ultra-wide field of view shooting, it will be able to record a wider panoramic field of view.
In addition, GoPro Max can also record 270-degree ambient sound through 6 built-in microphones while shooting 360-degree panoramic images. It also uses a touch screen and supports underwater protection of 5 meters.
GoPro Max will be available for online pre-order starting today, and is expected to start shipping on October 10th. It is expected to be officially launched in the United States on October 24th.
