In terms of design, the foldable screen phone created by Google is very similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold series, but the aspect ratio of the screen is obviously different. Google's design appears to be wider, similar to the OPPO launchedFind Womendesign.
At the same time, the video camera on the inner screen is placed on the frame, unlike other manufacturers who use an under-screen camera or a hole-punch camera. This allows the inner screen to be displayed in full picture, avoiding being "blocked" by the lens.
Google filed for this design patent in June 2021 and recently received approval, suggesting it's possible the company will announce a foldable phone this year, perhaps as early as the upcoming Pixel 6 series. However, whether it will launch alongside the Pixel 7 series remains uncertain.
Google has previously collaborated with Samsung on a foldable phone product. Google has developed a foldable phone specifically for the specific use case.Android 12L, and the Android 13L operating system launched this year, allow users to operate the foldable screen phone without the obstacles of switching between the internal and external screens, while also allowing more apps to correspond to the large-size screen experience.
After Google joins the foldable phone market, it is expected that the popularity of such products will accelerate and the prices will become more affordable, thereby attracting more people to use them.
