When introducing the Gemini Pro-integrated "Bard," Google collaborated with former NASA and Apple engineer and CrunchLabs founder Mark Rober in a YouTube video. The video asks "Bard" how to make a paper airplane that can successfully fly through a ring of fire, explaining how the Gemini Pro-integrated "Bard" will provide advice on choosing paper materials, folding methods, and even how to throw a paper airplane.
According to Google's description, Gemini Pro's computing performance will be higher than OpenAI's GPT-3.5, and it will be able to better understand user expressions. It will also be able to more accurately summarize long texts, give reasonable suggestions, or assist in coding and itinerary planning.
Currently, users will be able to interact with "Bard" integrated with Gemini Pro through English text in 170 countries around the world. Google will also add support for more languages and promote the service in more countries and regions in the future.
Bard Advanced, integrated with Gemini Ultra, will initially be available for testing with pre-registered developers and businesses, with wider public availability expected in 2024. This version will fully utilize Gemini Ultra's interactive capabilities through text, images, audio, video, and coded content, providing more complete answers.
However, Google has not yet stated whether "Bard Advanced" will be available through additional payment methods.
Google also revealed that it's already using Gemini across its services, including Google Search, Google Ads, the Chrome browser, and its artificial intelligence service, Duet AI. On the device side, Gemini Nano, initially available on the Pixel 8 Pro, will enable more accurate summaries of recorded audio and allow WhatsApp to automatically reply to conversations using the Gboard input method. This feature will be added to more messaging apps in the future. Other features include enhanced camera performance, video playback, and clearer calls.
According to Google statistics, after the introduction of "Gemini", the overall user experience of Google Search service in English in the United States has increased by up to 40%.
