With the upcoming Android 14 update, Google is expected to release a desktop widget called "Assistant At a Glance," which uses artificial intelligence technology to assist in displaying information such as weather forecasts, event reminders, or travel itinerary updates. Additionally, the Image Q&A assistive feature of Lookout, an accessibility tool, can now use audio descriptions of automatically generated AI-generated content to make it easier for people with low vision or visual impairments to understand.
Other updates include the ability to add library cards and gym memberships to Google Wallet, as well as adding activity and sleep data from Google Fit and Fitbit to your daily activities, making it easier for users to track their fitness and sleep goals. Safety apps now make it easier to share your location, record your surroundings, and quickly call the police. Android Auto updates now allow users to join Webex or Zoom meetings from the car's screen.
The above features are expected to be available first on models such as the Pixel 5 series, Pixel 5a and Pixel 4a, and will be gradually available on the Pixel 6, Pixel 7 series phones, and Pixel Fold in the coming weeks. It is also expected to be available on more Android phones later.
