GoogleAnnounce, will launch a dedicated version of the AI service "Gemini for Government" for government agencies. This version will combine image generation, video processing, intelligent search, and AI agent (AI agents) construction tools, emphasizing that it can help public agencies improve administrative efficiency and meet government security and local compliance requirements.
Unlike Gemini, which is used by general enterprises, "Gemini for Government" has more built-in modules for administrative applications, such as Deep Research and Idea Generation prefabricated agent services, which can help agencies quickly organize data, produce reports, or provide auxiliary ideas in policy planning.
In addition, government clients can also develop customized AI agent services on their own, covering applications ranging from document administration to security monitoring.
Google said that this service will integrate the NotebookLM note-taking assistant, enterprise-level search, image and video generation tools, and provide enhanced security design, complying with cloud security standards such as Sec4 and FedRAMP, to ensure that data can be strictly protected in sensitive applications.
Interestingly, Google is pricing this plan at just $0.50 per year, with the option to pay for higher-level security features. This move is not only a gesture of goodwill towards government agencies, but is also seen as a direct challenge to the $1 service plan recently announced by OpenAI and Anthropic for government agencies.
In other words, Google plans to seize the government market through a low-price strategy, while trying to consolidate its competitive advantage in the application of AI services in public institutions.
In fact, major AI companies have actively entered the government market in recent years, not only because of the huge procurement demand, but also because government applications often represent standard setting and industry orientation.
