Based on security and quality requirements, Google recently proposed new regulations to developers. In addition to requiring developers to complete account verification, they must also require the app to complete at least 20 people testing and other processes before it can be officially listed on the Google Play Store.
This regulation will apply to personal Google Play developer accounts created after November 2023, 11. Such developers will be required to complete closed testing with at least 13 people for more than 20 days before the app is actually available on the Google Play Store. Participants in the test must actively request to join the test.
After completing the test, developers can apply for review and listing through the Google Play console. Google will also ask relevant questions during the review process to confirm the purpose of the app itself, testing status, and related readiness.
In addition, Google will also require developers applying after September 2023 to complete account verification and issue a DUNS global number with the corporate credit reporting company Dun & Bradstreet as verification to confirm the company's official name, address, email, telephone number, company size, organization category, as well as website and bank account information.
For developer accounts that have been applied for previously, Google will also require completion of verification. Otherwise, starting from April 2024, 4, all apps and developer account-related information will be removed from the Google Play Store by Google.
