Reuters quoted sources as saying, EU competition regulators may file a lawsuit against Google for antitrust violations.
Prior to this, the EU had been trying to sue Google for violating the Digital Markets Act, but the court had previously ruled that the investigation into its online advertising business wasSomewhat biased, and therefore rescinded the decision to fine Google 14.9 billion euros.
This time, the EU is expected to focus its investigation on whether Google favors personal businesses in its search services, such as giving priority to displaying search results for services such as Google Shopping and Google Flights, resulting in unfair competition for other Internet service providers. At the same time, the relevant investigation may also clarify whether Google has also caused unfairness to other services.
However, the EU competition regulator refused to respond to this, while Google emphasized that it is looking for a suitable balance solution with the EU competition regulator and may make more adjustments to the way search results are presented, and even some practical functions may be deleted.
In addition to advertising and search businesses, Microsoft executives have previously pointed out that GoogleImproper meansMicrosoft's cloud business has been smeared in the eyes of regulators and policymakers in the EU and other regions. However, in a subsequent statement responding, Google emphasized that it has consistently publicly expressed concerns about Microsoft's cloud business and stated that it agrees with other industry players that Microsoft's cloud business limits customer choice and hinders cybersecurity innovation.
