Google announced the official addition of the Google Distributed Cloud network isolation device service to its cloud services. Through the integration of software and hardware, it can be quickly changed in a rugged protective box. It can also process data in real time and perform various artificial intelligence calculations in various edge environments. This can meet the needs of disaster areas, remote research locations, or environments with harsh climates, no Internet access, and frequent movement.

Google launches a distributed network isolation device service to meet the needs of disaster areas, remote locations, or environments without internet access.

In addition to being able to be quickly moved through the protective box, Google also stated that this service can also be installed and used in the user's local operating environment and meets the US Department of Defense (DoD) Impact Level 5 (IL5) certification, thereby corresponding to the protection of non-confidential but sensitive information. It also plans to obtain Impact Level 6 (IL6) and higher certification in the future.

Users can leverage Google Distributed Cloud's network-isolated device service with built-in AI solutions, such as translation, voice recognition, and optical character recognition (OCR), to improve the efficiency of mission-critical applications. The device is also protected by a protective box that ensures normal operation in extreme temperatures, shock, and vibration conditions. The box also complies with the US military standard MIL-STD-810H certification and weighs approximately 45 kilograms.

During use, it can operate without any network connection, making it suitable for operation in an environment with no network connection resources. It also ensures data isolation and security. It also has Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) functions, which can correspond to computing, network and storage space, as well as data transfer and data analysis technologies, similar to the functions provided by Google Cloud services.

Currently, this service can be applied in scenarios such as disaster response, industrial automation technology, transportation and logistics, and U.S. federal and defense regulated workloads. Currently, we are collaborating with the U.S. Air Force Rapid Logistics Support Office to introduce this service to meet the needs of fast, agile, and integrated functional applications.
