Google launches an experimentalVirtual fitting app "Doppl", allowing users to create a personal digital avatar through artificial intelligence technology, "try on" various clothing styles in a virtual form, and even generate dynamic videos that simulate the actual wearing effect. This app is currently available in iOS and Android versions and was developed by the Google Labs team. It is expected to become an innovative tool for exploring personal style.
Unlike Google's previous virtual fitting function that could only be presented on models, the biggest highlight of "Doppl" is that users only need to upload a full-body photo to create a unique digital avatar and try on any clothing from any picture. The source of clothing is not limited, whether it is street style, the style seen on social networks, or actual clothing images, all can be used for virtual fitting.
In terms of fitting operations, Doppl not only provides static image generation, but also supports artificial intelligence animation conversion function, which can simulate the actual wearing appearance of clothing with body movements. Users can also save multiple sets of fitting styles, browse past records at any time, or share personal dressing ideas through social platforms.
According to Google, Doppl is based on the virtual fitting function of Google Shopping, providing a more interactive and intimate dressing experience through an independent app. However, Google also emphasized that this app is still experimental and its accuracy is not yet fully mature, and the actual fitting effect may still have room for improvement.
Currently, Doppl is only available in the United States, and Google has not yet announced whether it will be expanded to other markets. However, the potential for the combination of artificial intelligence and personalization demonstrated by it is undoubtedly an important indicator of the future direction of the intersection of fashion and technology.
