After proposing the Material design language in 2014 to make the mobile phone operating interface more intuitive, realistic and simplified, Google also announced that the interface design adopted in Android 12 will be named Material You.
By adding "You" to the name, Google indicates that the new design language will place more emphasis on personalization, which means that the proportion of personal style settings and personal usage needs will increase. For example, more changeable fonts and icon presentation styles have been added to Android 12, and even the background theme color can be adjusted according to the wallpaper content for the best color presentation effect.
In addition, Material You continues the original Material design language, so the operation will be more intuitive through a simplified interface, even similar to the real operation mode, such as intuitively adjusting the volume, screen brightness, or switch positioning functions through the lever.
Through the streamlined interface design, Google also stated that the new version of Android 12 can reduce processor resource consumption by 22%, and even allow the device to extend its usage time by saving power.
The Material You design language will not only be used in Android 12, but is also expected to be applied to the Wear OS operating system and more Google operating interfaces.
