Following its initial launch in the United States, India and the United Kingdom, Google announced its"AI Mode" search functionwill be formallyExpanded to more than 180 countries and regions, initially providing services in English, and will gradually add support for more languages in the future.
In addition to its regional expansion, Google is also strengthening the agent functionality of AI Mode, adding a new restaurant reservation service. Users can directly give commands using natural language, such as "Help me find a restaurant in the city center that serves Italian food, seating four, next Friday at 6 p.m.." AI Mode will then integrate online information and data from partner platforms to compile a list, along with available reservation times and links, allowing users to complete their reservations directly.
Google said that in the future, "AI Mode" will also add local service reservation and event ticketing functions. It has already cooperated with online ticket booking services such as Ticketmaster and StubHub, allowing users to book concert tickets or arrange life services in the same way.
AI Mode's core technology is derived from Google's internally codenamed "Project Mariner," an AI web browsing agent. It leverages information from the Knowledge Graph and Google Maps. Google has also partnered with platforms like OpenTable, Resy, and Tock to maximize restaurant coverage and streamline the reservation process.
Currently these features are limited toGoogle AI Ultra SolutionSubscribe to the user experience and start testing through the Google Labs experimental platform. Due to the high subscription price of Google AI Ultra, this service will remain in the high-end user market for the time being.
However, Google said it will gradually adjust based on user feedback in the future and may further expand to more levels of AI subscription plans to allow more people to use this feature.
In addition, Google has also added a shared conversation feature in "AI Mode". If users plan a travel or party event with the help of the AI assistant, they can invite others to join the conversation through the "Share" button and ask follow-up questions in the same situation. The initiator of the conversation can delete the shared link at any time to maintain privacy control.
