Google confirms it will no longer release watches under the Fitbit brand, focusing on fitness trackers.

In 2019, it announced the acquisition of Fitbit for $21 billion, and in 2021, Fitbit officiallyBecome a part of Google, although the Fitbit brand will still be launched in 2022Versa 4 and Sense 2 watch productsHowever, after Google started launching the Pixel Watch, it has never launched any watch products under the Fitbit brand.

When the Pixel Watch 3 was announced earlier, Sandeep Waraich, senior director of product management for Google Pixel Wearables, confirmed that the Pixel Watch will be the first watch product in the future, while the Fitbit brand will focus on more durable, simple sports bracelets that can track personal body data.

Sandeep Waraich emphasized that feedback from many Fitbit brand users shows that more people choose to use Fitbit's sports bracelet products, mainly because of their longer battery standby time and the need to record personal body data during exercise. Therefore, the user group focused on is different from that of the Pixel Watch series products.

In the future, Fitbit's Sense 2 and Versa 4 will continue to be sold in the market, but subsequent products will be replaced by the Pixel Watch series.

However, many Fitbit-related designs can still be seen on the Pixel Watch 3. For example, it is integrated with the Fitbit Premium subscription service. At the same time, the product design also combines Fitbit's heart rate analysis algorithm and related body data presentation. In addition, it also combines Google's artificial intelligence technology, allowing the Pixel Watch 3 to more accurately collect user body data and provide physical training suggestions that are more in line with personalized needs.

For now, the Fitbit brand will continue to be used within the Google system, but Google has a history of eliminating acquisitions by merging them into brands, such as Picasa, which was acquired in 2004 and became Google Photos, which many people use today. Therefore, in the future, Fitbit may become a complete part of the Pixel brand.
