Google NEXT'4 was held in Las Vegas, USA in April this year, and announcedMany artificial intelligence applications on the Vertex AI platformLater, Google also held the Google Cloud Summit Taipei 6 event in Taipei today (June 12), and invited industry players such as the Taiwan National Health Insurance Administration, Foxconn, E.Sun Bank, Uni-President Information, and Orange Group to share how they are using Google Cloud's technical resources to promote artificial intelligence applications and digital transformation.

Kai-Hsin Chen, General Manager of Google Cloud Taiwan, explained that more than 3000 upgrades have been made to its products in the past year. He also reiterated that Google has established 42 regional services around the world. Some regions even cover more than two data centers, or continue to upgrade with the latest technology, and have formed 2 available blocks, which can deploy services to 124 edge locations. This allows Google Cloud to deploy services in more than 187 countries and regions. He also explained that Google currently has a backbone network length of more than 200 million miles on land or under the sea to ensure the stable operation of its services and applications running on its platform.

At the same time, Chen Kaixin also stated that Google Cloud continues to build a solid and reliable AI computing infrastructure for enterprises, and provides an open and interoperable AI technology stack and a variety of agent AI services. Currently, its cloud services have been applied to industries such as manufacturing, retail, finance, healthcare, media entertainment, and telecommunications, and help enterprises accelerate innovation, improve operational efficiency and provide a better user experience.

At the event, the Taiwan National Health Insurance Administration also explained its continued collaboration with Google Cloud to drive personalized and value-oriented medical innovations through artificial intelligence technology.
The National Health Insurance Administration (NHIA) and Google Cloud collaborated on the "AI-on-DM" project, using artificial intelligence to analyze health insurance applications and physiological test data for patients with type 2 diabetes, successfully creating an intelligent risk assessment model. This collaboration has already enabled personalized risk stratification and comorbidity prediction. For example, the system can generate individual risk reports that accurately predict the risk of complications such as retinal and renal diseases.

The National Health Insurance Administration also stated that it will deepen its collaboration with Google Cloud in the future. It plans to develop a diabetes artificial intelligence agent service based on the Gemini model to automatically generate digital health education content to assist doctors and patients in providing more effective personalized care. It will also be integrated with the "National Health Insurance Mobile Express | Health Passbook" service.
Foxconn is leveraging Google Cloud's cloud services to strengthen security resilience and flexible resource allocation, accelerating its global expansion. It is also applying AI solutions to its three major platforms: smart manufacturing, smart electric vehicles, and smart cities, implementing its recently announced "3+3+3" strategic blueprint. E.Sun Bank, on the other hand, is leveraging Google Cloud's technical resources to advance its digital and sustainable transformation across infrastructure, data analytics, and AI applications. Currently, it is integrating the Gemini AI model with E.Sun Bank's internal knowledge systems, launching a financial services chatbot called "Golden Secretary" in just three months. This allows bank employees to quickly obtain solutions to customer inquiries.

Uni-President Information leveraged Google Cloud's artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud data analytics services to develop an "AI Food Safety Reporting System" that reduces food safety reporting and processing times. It also used its "ESG Strategic Management Platform" to implement AI-powered real-time monitoring of energy usage at 7-Eleven stores, optimizing it for future adjustments. It also created an online conversational shopping service through AI-powered agents. Furthermore, Orange Group leveraged Google Cloud's technical resources on its Vyin AI platform, enabling generative AI to significantly reduce the "illusion" problem and make AI technology 100% controllable, preventing issues when implementing it in the enterprise.
In addition to continuing to collaborate with Taiwanese businesses, the Google Taiwan Developer Community has successfully enhanced the generative artificial intelligence skills of more than 5000 developers over the past year through the "Build with AI" and "Google Cloud AI Study Jam" programs.
Taiwan's Google developer ecosystem has established seven Google Developer Groups (GDGs), 7 Google Developer Experts (GDEs), and 16 GDG on Campus student developer groups. Last year, 26 events were held, attracting over 575 participants. Google Cloud stated that it will continue to work with the Taiwanese developer ecosystem to create more diverse learning and exchange opportunities, promoting the implementation and development of artificial intelligence and Google Cloud technologies.
