Google announced the integration of its Gemini artificial intelligence technology into the Business and Enterprise plans of its Workspace platform, allowing business and enterprise users to integrate more AI applications into their workflows at no additional cost. Separately, Google also announced a partnership with the Associated Press. Using Gemini's artificial intelligence technology, the company will enable faster dissemination of AP news content through Google Search, allowing users to access more up-to-date AP news reports through Google Search.
This update will enable the commercial and enterprise versions of Workspace, including Gmail, Google Docs, Google Meet, Google Chat, and Google Vids, to accelerate execution efficiency through Gemini artificial intelligence, making users more efficient and speeding up communication during collaborative work.
In addition, this update also adds the Gemini Advanced chat interaction function, and you can also use the NotebookLM Plus service to help organize data, analyze content, and even summarize the key points of audio content.
This update will be gradually available for the commercial version of Workspace starting today, and is expected to be available for the enterprise version of Workspace before the end of January.
As for this update, there will be no additional charge, and it can even be used at a lower price. Previously, using the commercial standard version of Workspace and purchasing the Gemini Business plug-in, each user had to pay US$32 per month, but now it only costs US$14, which is only an additional US$2 compared to the plan without purchasing the Gemini Business plug-in.
At the same time, Google emphasized that its artificial intelligence services prioritize data security, confidentiality, and compliance. Therefore, its Workspace service will protect corporate data ownership and give companies full control. It also boasts that its Gemini application service complies with security certifications including SOC 1/2/3, ISO 27001/17/18, and ISO 42001. It also complies with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) passed by the 104th Congress of the United States, allowing medical system-related units and enterprises to comply with relevant information protection standards when using the Workspace service.
The subscription price of the new plan will be updated from March 3, and those who have previously subscribed on an annual or monthly basis will be charged the new price next time.
Google and the Associated Press partner on Gemini artificial intelligence technology
In addition to bringing Gemini artificial intelligence technology to the commercial and enterprise versions of Workspace, Google also announced earlier that it is collaborating with the Associated Press to use Gemini artificial intelligence technology to allow AP news content to spread faster through Google search services, and users can also obtain more timely AP news reports through Google search services.
Prior to this, the Associated Press also signed a two-year cooperation agreement with OpenAI, allowing OpenAI to use the Associated Press's selected news content since 2. The American news website Axios also recently signed a three-year cooperation agreement with OpenAI, and OpenAI funded Axios to establish four new local news editorial rooms.
