Samsung officially announcedThe new flagship Galaxy S26 seriesAt the same time, in addition to adding AI models in collaboration with Perplexity, Samsung also partnered with Google.New Gemini AI featuresThis includes upgrading the Circle to Search function, enhancing the ability to call third-party apps via Gemini AI for services such as vehicle reservations and food ordering, and even strengthening the instant call fraud detection mechanism.
The new AI features will not only be used first on the Galaxy S26 series, but will also be available on Google's Pixel 10 series released last year.
Gemini upgrades with "multi-step task delegation," silently completing tasks for you in the background.
The most "futuristic" highlight of this update is Gemini AI's new "multi-step tasks" processing capability, which is powered by the new Gemini 3 AI model.
Unlike the question-and-answer model of the past, users can now directly "outsource" more tedious tasks to Gemini, such as asking it to call a car by voice or creating an online shopping cart for fresh groceries, just like using AI to assist in handling complex tasks.
The most convenient aspect is that this feature runs silently in the system background, without interfering with the user's ability to continue using the phone or handling other tasks. During execution, Gemini provides real-time progress updates via the notification bar, allowing users to monitor the process at any time and even intervene to make adjustments midway.
This feature will initially be rolled out in beta testing and will first support specific partnered dining, shopping, and ride-hailing apps (including Uber and Uber Eats). However, this feature is currently only available for the Galaxy S26 series and Pixel 10 series in the US and South Korean markets, and is not yet available for devices in other countries and regions.
Based on Google's past practices in updating various features, it is expected that more countries and regions will gradually be opened up to users, but it is still uncertain whether users in Taiwan will be able to use this feature in the future.
"Circle Search" Makes a Big Leap Forward: Supports Full-Outfit Recognition and Virtual Try-On
The highly praised "circle search" feature has been significantly expanded in terms of capabilities, just as Samsung described.
Previously, users could only select a single object at a time for searching. The upgraded version can not only identify "multiple objects" in the screen at the same time, but also launched a killer app called "Find the look" for fashion lovers.
For example, when you see an outfit you like in a social media post or video, simply circle your entire body, and AI will automatically identify and break it down, identifying individual items such as clothes, pants, and shoes. Even cooler, once the system finds these garments, it can even allow users to "virtually try them on."
Beyond the fashion industry, this multi-object recognition technology can also be widely used to analyze complex information in a single image, thereby simplifying the user's cumbersome operation process.
Real-time on-device fraud detection comprehensively protects calls and text messages.
Faced with a constant stream of fraud threats, Google has built its protective network directly at the system's core.
Leveraging Gemini's on-device AI computing capabilities, Google has integrated Call Screening, a feature that provides scam detection, into Samsung's native "Phone" app. This tool analyzes call content in real time, and if it detects the use of common "speech patterns" employed by fraud rings, it immediately issues a strong warning to the user.
To dispel privacy concerns, Google emphasized that this feature is "off" by default and will never be activated during calls between users and their contacts.
The same technical logic will also be used in Google's native "Messages" app to help block fraudulent text messages. Currently, the call fraud prevention feature initially only supports English voice messages on the Galaxy S26 in the United States; while the text message fraud prevention feature has been gradually rolled out to multiple global markets.
