Google earlier announced a number of updates for the Android operating system, including enhancements to its own wireless file sharing feature Nearby Share, as well as more updates for disability accessibility features.
In the new version of Nearby Share, as long as the device is logged in to the same Google account, files can be shared directly without waking up or unlocking the device, making it convenient for users to share files on their Android phone with devices such as Google TV and Android tablets logged in to the same account.
As for the Google Meet function update, it adds the function of watching the same YouTube video simultaneously during online video conferencing, with a maximum limit of 100 people.
In addition, the Google Drive and Google Keep functions have adjusted their operating interfaces for larger screen sizes. For example, Google Drive allows users to open Google Docs, Google Slides, or Google Sheets more quickly, while Google Keep displays content and to-do items in larger fonts.
In terms of the Gboard input method function, a new "Emojify" shortcut key function has been added, allowing users to automatically add appropriate emojis when typing in English, but there are currently no plans to support other languages.
This update to the disability assistance function enhances the existing sound prompt function. When emergency sounds such as fire alarms are identified, more obvious visual prompts can be used to inform users. It also allows users to record the sound content that needs attention to meet their personal attention needs.
Other parts include adding audio descriptions to Google TV and allowing users to find video content that supports audio descriptions through voice search. For the Wear OS update, more personalization features are added.
