Recently announced the launchThird-generation battery swap stationsAfter launching the "Free Savings" battery plan, Gogoro also launched the new model Gogoro VIVA today (9/26) as the market speculated. It has become Gogoro's way of attacking the 50cc light motorcycle market. It is also confirmed that it will operate on a single battery and with a further lightweight body design, it can travel up to 85 kilometers on a full charge.
The starting price after subsidies is NT$25980. The manufacturer also offers a two-year warranty and four free express service visits in the first two years. Thereafter, express service is available every 2 kilometers or every six months for an annual cost of only NT$2. Furthermore, with the recently introduced "Free Saver" battery plan, at a monthly fee of NT$4, this plan allows for 5000% more mileage than previous models, highlighting its "value for money" compared to traditional fuel vehicles.
As for the body design, the name is obviously to avoid the number "4", and the new car is named Gogoro VIVA, which can almost be regarded as the "little lamb" model of the Gogoro series of models.
Not only is the body's inclined panel almost cylindrical, but the front fender is even integrated with the footrests. The wheels have been reduced to 10 inches, the steering wheel has been further streamlined, and even the panel displaying information such as vehicle speed has been further reduced, making it more convenient for users to ride and park in roadside parking spaces. The body continues the Gogoro 3's scratch-resistant PP material (polypropylene) that is easy to produce in bright colors, so it is also sun-resistant, scratch-resistant, and impact-resistant.
The Gogoro VIVA weighs just 80 kg, including the battery. Its integrated in-wheel motors deliver approximately 3000 horsepower at a 4.02W wheel output, boasting no overheating and requiring no gear oil maintenance. Its top speed is capped at 50 km/h, making it ideal for short-distance urban commuting. However, for necessary overtaking or exiting an underground parking garage on a steep slope, the Gogoro VIVA offers a "Checkered Flag" power mode for instantaneous power delivery.
Due to its lighter weight and speed limit, the Gogoro VIVA can still provide the same or even longer riding distance even with a single battery as its power output source, and it can still accommodate two people in a shared ride mode. Gogoro also offers accessories including body protection covers and loadable racks, claiming that owners can choose from over 150 million accessory combinations, allowing Gogoro VIVA owners to create a more personalized vehicle style.
In addition, due to its 10-inch frame design, the Gogoro VIVA is only 74 cm low, which is lower than the Gogoro 2 Delight. The reduced body height makes it easier to park in roadside parking spaces, but it still maintains front and rear disc brakes and a dual shock absorber design. The cabin also uses a single battery holder design. Although smaller than the Gogoro 2, it can still accommodate a second helmet and can also be charged via GoCharger.
The car can be activated via an NFC card or a smartphone app, but the sensor is located on the side of the car body near the rear. Five contrasting colors are available: pomegranate red, lime gray, mustard yellow, mint blue, and sea salt white.
Compared to previously launched models, Gogoro VIVA clearly hopes to allow the vehicle to have richer personalized performance through more accessories, and hopes to attract more people to join in through more affordable prices, while also once again changing the market's perception of electric vehicles.
