Gogoro recently announced that it will expand the application of its smart battery swap network in India and plan to develop the electric vehicle market. Earlier, it announced the new CrossOver GX250 model manufactured in India. It also launched the CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S models, and established a battery swap network in Delhi and Goa, India. It is expected to expand to Mumbai, India's second largest city, and Pune, Maharashtra in the first half of 2024.
CrossOver GX250 will be Gogoro's first electric vehicle produced in India, and will also continueThe CrossOver series of vehicles have been launched in the Taiwan market.Designed for different terrain conditions, it adopts a new frame and a 17.6 cm ground clearance design, and uses a 2.5kW power output motor. It can reach a maximum speed of over 60 kilometers per hour, and the maximum driving distance on a full charge can reach 111 kilometers.
The CrossOver GX250 also has 26 locking points and provides ample seating and cargo space, including headlights, footrests, seats, and rear space that can be used for carrying people or cargo. The rear seats can also be removed or lifted up as needed to increase cargo space.
This vehicle was the product project that was financed by the International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) of India in August this year, and was used when Gogoro was certified as a foreign two-wheeler OEM and battery swap supplier by the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in November this year.
In addition to the CrossOver GX250, Gogoro also launched the CrossOver 50 and CrossOver S models in the Indian market.
According to Gogoro, the CrossOver GX250 is identical to the model sold in Taiwan, differing in manufacturing and supplier relationships in India, resulting in significant differences in model numbers. Furthermore, due to differing terrain requirements, the CrossOver GX250 and CrossOver 50 utilize in-wheel motor designs with different power outputs, resulting in lower prices. These power outputs are tailored to low and medium speeds, while the CrossOver S utilizes a water-cooled motor and belt drive.
Currently, Gogoro has partnered with Hero MotoCorp, the largest motorcycle brand in the Indian market, to promote the design of PBGN electric vehicles and the application of smart battery swap networks in the Indian market. It has also announced a partnership with Indian electric vehicle application service platform operators.Zypp ElectricThe collaboration aims to accelerate the development of application services for logistics delivery using electric vehicles in India and establish the last mile for the development of electric vehicle applications.
