Gogolook announced today (May 5) the expansion of its brand authentication service product line, expanding from Whoscall merchant number authentication to corporate digital identities such as official websites. The company also signed a memorandum of understanding with ECPay, Taiwan's largest third-party payment platform. Gogolook will introduce payment scenarios through ECPay's 26 merchants across Taiwan, allowing consumers to identify potential fraud risks before transactions, thereby building a more comprehensive online digital trust.

Gogolook and Green World Technology provide brand authentication, targeting the urgent need for website fraud prevention.
According to a Google survey, "impersonation scams" are the leading cause of malicious abuse of generative AI. With the growing popularity of third-party payment and e-commerce services, fraud rings have also accelerated their counterfeiting efforts, using fake websites and customer service numbers to confuse the public. If consumers accidentally click on fake payment links while shopping, they are often asked to enter personal information, debit card information, or credit card information, unknowingly authorizing the amount and falling victim to fraud.
In addition to defending against fraud attacks, Gogolook is also actively promoting brand authentication services. Among them, the Whoscall authenticated merchant number service has been adopted by hundreds of merchants in the Taiwanese market in 2024, covering more than 6000 phone numbers, with a five-fold annual growth.
To strengthen its anti-fraud efforts and protect its brand reputation, Gogolook plans to extend its authentication services to website scenarios.Scam AdviserThrough Whoscall's extensive global fraudulent domain database and deep strategic partnerships, we are establishing a real-time authentication and risk-checking mechanism for transnational websites. In the future, consumers will be able to conveniently verify the security and authenticity of websites through Whoscall. This authentication system can also be scaled up and applied across our partner ecosystems to jointly enhance digital security.
This initiative will launch first in the Taiwan market and, in partnership with Green World Technology, integrate this service into its vast merchant ecosystem, creating a safer and more trustworthy digital transaction environment for merchants and consumers. Furthermore, Green World Technology will also integrate the "WhosCall One-Click Lookup" feature on official LINE accounts and other platforms, integrating AI-powered lookups for phone numbers, links, and screenshots. This will expand consumer contact points with anti-fraud technology and establish an industry standard for digital trust.
Gogolook Chairman Zheng Shengfeng stated, "Gogolook possesses market-leading anti-fraud data and AI technology. Our acquisition of ScamAdvisor, a leading authority on website risk management, has clients ranging from global social media providers and security giants to internet service providers like search engines. This will create a synergistic effect, integrating Taiwanese businesses into the international anti-fraud security system. By collaborating with Green World Technology to build an anti-fraud ecosystem for the payment industry, we expect to help over 41 merchants implement website and phone number verification mechanisms, and create a business model worth hundreds of millions through value-added services."
Liu Shiwei, General Manager of Green World Technology, emphasized, "Recently, many fraud groups have impersonated payment providers to establish fraudulent websites, posing a serious threat to consumer rights. Green World Technology and Gogolook are leading brands in the payment and fraud prevention sectors, respectively. This powerful alliance will not only help clients and consumers prevent fraud, but also enhance the added value of our services. Through this collaboration, we aim to provide consumers and merchants with a more transparent and secure transaction environment. We also look forward to working with the Third-Party Payment Association and the Electronic Payment Association to develop anti-fraud technology implementation standards in the future, responding to government anti-fraud policies and jointly establishing new industry anti-fraud standards."
