Roland Quandt was earlier than Bluesky platformDisclose the news, claiming that the Galaxy Z Fold7, which will be unveiled soon, will be Samsung's thinnest and lightest foldable phone ever. Meanwhile, another thin and light foldable phone with a foldable screen was recently revealed in a video showing the device.Galaxy z flip7.
According to reports, the Galaxy Z Fold7 is only 4.2mm thick when unfolded and 8.9mm thick when folded. It is much thinner than the previous generation Galaxy Z Fold6, and the body weight is reduced to 216 grams, thereby solving the long-standing "thickness" problem of foldable screen phones. Samsung also expects to make it closer to the general upright mobile phone usage experience through a grip design close to that of ordinary mobile phones, and break the market stereotype that foldable screen phones are "bulky".
Other specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 6.5-inch external screen and an 8-inch internal screen, and a 4400mAh battery capacity.
The Galaxy Z Flip 7's external display has been increased from the 6-inch design of the previous-generation Galaxy Z Flip 3.4 to a 4.1-inch display thanks to a punch-hole cutout, providing a more comprehensive notification display and widget interface. Furthermore, the Galaxy Z Flip 7's body is 70% thinner than the previous generation, while its built-in battery capacity has been increased, resulting in expected improved battery life.
Looking at the overall trend, Samsung's foldable phone lineup this year is focused on thinness and lightweight design and AI-powered features, so we expect to see significant integration with Google Gemini technology. However, Samsung previously revealed that the Galaxy AI service included with the Galaxy S25 series will only be available for a six-month trial period, suggesting that it will continue to be available through a fee or other means. The specifics of this will remain to be determined by Samsung's subsequent announcement.
The Galaxy Z Fold7, Galaxy Z Flip7 and other new phones are expected to be officially launched at 7 pm Taiwan time on July 9. In addition to the Galaxy Z Fold10 and Galaxy Z Flip7, Samsung is also rumored to launch another higher-end Galaxy Z Fold Ultra, but no specific details have been revealed yet.
On the other hand, Samsung may also unveil the long-rumored three-screen foldable phone called "Galaxy G Fold", which may be the finale of the upcoming press conference, but the actual launch time may be the end of this year or later.
As for Samsung, it is also expected to update its new wearable devices at the same time, which may include the new Galaxy Watch8 series.
