As previously revealed, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 version sold in Taiwan will be equipped with 12GB of memory and 512GB of storage capacity. In addition, it was also revealed that a limited-edition co-branded model with Thome Brown will be introduced.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 will be available in Taiwan for NT$71888, while the limited-edition Thome Brown co-branded model will be NT$112888. Both will be available for pre-order on September 9th and will be available in select retailers nationwide on September 10th. The Thome Brown co-branded model will be available exclusively at the Samsung Breeze Nanshan flagship store and the Samsung online store, while the standard model will be sold through Samsung's own and partner retailers.
The Galaxy Watch 3, previously launched in Taiwan, also revealed at the event that it will be available in a titanium, LTE-connected version, slated to go on sale on September 9th with a suggested retail price of NT$18 in the 19500mm size only. The stainless steel, LTE-connected version will be available in a 45mm Starry Black and a 45mm Starry Gold, with suggested retail prices of NT$41 and NT$16500, respectively, with an expected release date of September 15500th.
Chen Qimeng, deputy general manager of the Mobile and Information Business Division at Samsung Electronics Taiwan, said that compared to the previous introduction of the first Galaxy Fold in Taiwan, which only provided nearly 2 units in stock, the Galaxy Z Fold 10 launched in Taiwan this time hopes to have more than XNUMX times the sales performance, and stated that sufficient stock has been prepared for the first wave.
At the same time, Chen Qimeng said that although Taiwan does not provide hinge color customization services in specific markets like overseas regions, and does not provide personal delivery services like when selling Galaxy Fold, it still provides exclusive delivery counters and exclusive service hotlines in sales channels. The phone itself also provides a two-year mobile device comprehensive insurance to ensure protection against internal screen damage.
Regarding the cooperation with Starlux Airlines, Chen Qimeng explained that they mainly hope to establish a new market structure and expect deeper cooperation in the future. At the same time, this event also invites many Samsung mobile phone fans to participate in order to deepen the interactive relationship with consumers.
Galaxy Z Fold 2 officially debuts
Galaxy Z Fold 2 is available in two colors: Starry Black and Starry Gold. The Starry Gold color also uses a matte finish.
Regarding the related changes, Samsung not only emphasized improving the structural strength of the hinge, but also provided more fixed opening and closing angle options between 75 degrees and 115 degrees. For example, users can maintain a certain angle when opening the screen to watch videos on the full-size 6.2-inch external screen, or fully unfold it to continue watching on the larger 7.6-inch internal screen. They can even reply to messages through the lower half of the screen with the screen half-open.
At the same time, Samsung also emphasized that the Galaxy Z Fold 2 enhances the smoothness and switching speed of continuous use of the inner and outer screens, and the internal screen is more stable when running three apps simultaneously in multiple windows. Samsung has also made more adjustments for foldable screen phones in One UI 2.5.
In terms of camera shooting functions, users can choose to turn on or off the internal and external screens to display the shooting screen simultaneously, allowing users to frame the picture through the external screen or the internal screen. In addition, a gesture shooting function similar to the Galaxy Z Flip is also added.
The newly added auto-framing photography function will automatically enable the ultra-wide-angle video recording function and automatically analyze the movement pattern and number of people within a distance of 1.5 to 2.5 meters. When a single person is recognized, it will be zoomed through cropping. When multiple people are recognized, a certain composition range will be maintained to keep the person in the center.
However, this function can only recognize up to three people, and can only recognize the movement of people and horizontal movement. If they move forward and backward, there will be no automatic follow-up zoom shooting effect.
