After the court rejected Microsoft's application for a temporary injunction against its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, reports indicate that the US Federal Trade Commission has temporarily suspended its lawsuit against Microsoft over the deal.
Bloomberg News claimsThe U.S. Federal Trade Commission and Microsoft may have follow-up discussions, and Microsoft may use this to alleviate the FTC's concerns that the acquisition of Activision Blizzard may lead to market monopoly.
Although the FTC can still appeal to the court, the EU has already agreed to Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, and Microsoft has reached an agreement with the UK Competition and Markets Authority to further discuss acquisition terms acceptable to both parties, which may eventually prompt the FTC to agree to Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard.
In an earlier announcement, Microsoft and Activision Blizzard agreed to extend the acquisition deadline from July 7 toPostponed to February 10 this yearIt even signed a 10-year cooperation agreement with Sony, which had originally had a lot of opposition, and agreed to continue to release games such as "Call of Duty" on the PlayStation platform.
