After leaving Apple, former Apple Chief Design Officer Jony Ive continued to provide various design services through his company LoveFrom, and recently assisted British Linn Products in launching the 12th anniversary edition of the Sondek LP50 record player.
According toReportIt is claimed that Jony Ive assisted in the design of this commemorative edition product on a pro bono basis to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Sondek LP50 record player. The design collaboration between LoveFrom and Linn Products seems to be related to Jony Ive's long-term love of the Linn Products brand.
The 12th anniversary commemorative version of the Sondek LP50 record player has not made any major adjustments to the turntable mechanism. The changes mainly focus on some details, such as modifying the original right-angle edges with rounded arcs. In addition, the power button is changed to aluminum instead of the original plastic design. At the same time, the top cover can be hovered at more angles, but the overall visual effect is not much different from the original version.
The 50th Anniversary Edition will be sold at a price of up to $6, and only 250 units will be available worldwide, in white or wood.
